My Creative Process

Research & Discovery

  • Understand the problem space: market research, user interviews, competitive analysis.
  • Identify user needs, pain points, and behaviors.
  • Define project goals and business objectives.

 

Define the Problem

  • Create a clear problem statement.
  • Develop user personas and user journey maps.
  • Set success criteria (what does a successful solution look like?).

 

Ideation & Concept Development

  • Brainstorm multiple solutions (no bad ideas at this stage!).
  • Sketch low-fidelity wireframes and flowcharts.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and UX researchers for feedback.

 

Prototyping

  • Build interactive prototypes (starting low-fidelity → moving to high-fidelity).
  • Design user flows, screen layouts, navigation, and core functionality.
  • Keep usability and accessibility standards in mind.
  • User Testing & Validation Conduct usability tests (remote or in-person).
  • Gather qualitative and quantitative feedback.
  • Identify pain points, confusion, or design flaws.

Iteration

  • Refine designs based on user feedback.
  • Adjust visuals, interactions, or flows as needed.
  • Repeat prototyping and testing cycles until confident in the solution.

 

Final Design & Handoff

  • Create polished UI designs with design systems/style guides.
  • Prepare assets, specifications, and documentation for developers.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering during implementation to ensure pixel-perfect results.

 

Launch & Post

  • Launch Analysis Support QA and pre-launch reviews.
  • Analyze user engagement data and feedback after release.
  • Continue iterating based on real-world usage and user feedback based on contract.

Fearless, Inc

I am currently working at Fearless, Inc., as of November 2021, however, due to a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with clients associated with Fearless, Inc., I am unable to share specific design materials or visuals related to my current projects, as they have not yet been made public. These projects include work for the National Archives and Records Administration, Baltimore City, WeCMS, and Healthcare.gov.

University of Maryland, Baltimore

I worked at University of Maryland, Baltimore from 2019 until 2021, these are the pages I managed as their lead designer, and managed daily updates, as well as information architectural reworks to better fit the needs of the users.
